In addition, access to master data\u00a0(e.g. portfolio contracts, vacancies), which serve as\u00a0basic information for the planners, was only possible\u00a0through exports from the previous systems. The enormous\u00a0manual effort in Excel led to a high error rate,\u00a0and combining and evaluating the data of all properties\u00a0was enormously time-consuming.<\/p><p>As a REIT (Real Estate\u00a0Investment Trust), alstria is also subject to strict\u00a0regulations in planning and reporting \u2013 the Controlling\u00a0department therefore discussed the introduction of a\u00a0modern BI solution.\u00a0To support the project, alstria engaged external consultants\u00a0(PwC). The reporting for\u00a0the areas of letting assumptions, action planning and\u00a0P&amp;L was also to be made more dynamic and clearer.\u00a0The planning of letting assumptions (extended and\u00a0new tenancy agreements), the necessary construction\u00a0measures (refurbishment, modernisation, maintenance)\u00a0with the associated costs and the associated\u00a0data from contracts were first to be collected and then\u00a0integrated at a higher level. The next objective was to\u00a0map all data in a profit and loss account and to prepare\u00a0it for financial analysis for each
